Good VHF practice is simple:

listen before transmitting

think before keying the microphone

identify yourself clearly

speak slowly and normally

keep calls brief

move routine traffic off 16

do not transmit false distress alerts

do not use obscene or disruptive language

keep the radio available for safety traffic
