MMSI

An MMSI is a nine-digit maritime identity used by DSC and AIS systems.

Keep the MMSI registration current with:

vessel details

owner/contact details

emergency-contact information

For many U.S.-only recreational vessels, an approved domestic MMSI registrar can issue the number.

International voyages can require an FCC ship station license and associated internationally recognized MMSI arrangements.

Do not casually transfer an MMSI from one boat to another.
