Fishing vessels

For the Navigation Rules, "vessel engaged in fishing" means a vessel fishing with nets, lines, trawls or other gear that restricts maneuverability.

It does not include a vessel fishing with trolling lines or other gear that does not restrict maneuverability.

Under Rule 18, subject to Rules 9, 10 and 13:

power-driven vessels keep clear of qualifying fishing vessels

sailing vessels keep clear of qualifying fishing vessels

fishing vessels should, so far as possible, keep clear of NUC and RAM vessels
