For trip planning, useful values include:

sunrise

sunset

civil twilight

total daylight

For Navigation Rules lights, however, the core legal period is sunset to sunrise, with lights also required in restricted visibility and other circumstances prescribed by the Rules.

Do not substitute civil twilight for the Rule 20 requirement.
