Trailer launch basics

Prepare away from the ramp:

drain plug installed where required

lines attached

fenders ready

gear loaded

transom straps removed at the appropriate stage

bow winch and safety connection retained until launch control is assured

At the ramp:

back slowly

keep clear of other users

immerse only as far as required

control boat with line/winch

move away promptly once launched

park the towing rig only after the boat is controlled
