Use

Secure line to a post, ring or rail.

The round turn helps absorb load before the finishing hitches are made.

Sequence

Pass the line completely around the object twice, forming a round turn.

Bring the working end around the standing part.

Pass through to form the first half hitch.

Repeat in the same direction for the second half hitch.

Dress and set.
