Figure-eight stopper

Use

Prevents a line end from running through a block, fairlead or opening.

Sequence

Pass the working end over the standing part.

Take it around behind.

Bring it across the front.

Pass it down through the first loop.

Dress into a clear figure-eight.

Set.

Limitation

A stopper knot is not a substitute for a proper load-bearing attachment.
