Anchor bend
Also called a fisherman's bend in traditional seamanship.
Use
Attaching rope to an anchor ring or similar fitting.
Sequence
Pass the working end twice through the ring to create two round turns.
Bring the working end around the standing part.
Pass it through the two round turns.
Make a half hitch around the standing part.
Dress and set.
Secure the tail where the installation is intended to be permanent.
Limitation
Many modern anchor rodes use chain, shackles, splices or engineered connectors instead. Follow the anchor and rode manufacturer's arrangement where specified.
